I wasn’t aware. Most people aren’t.

I wasn’t aware. Most people aren’t. With the lockdown in place and most people not working, the hardest hit are the poor. They live from hand to mouth. When they stop working, they stop feeding. Their families, children and babies go hungry. And there are so many of them.

I’m part of a group of volunteers who help provide food aid to the needy living near Old Klang road. So glad to meet kind-hearted people who give what they can, be it money, time, effort and heart.

Most of us contribute our own money. But the requests for food aid has been endless. We get an average of 50 requests daily. Sometimes, over 100 requests daily.

We are struggling to cope. We need more funds, and more volunteers – for packing & delivering aid, to help keep track of the cases, etc. Kind hearted people, if you’d like to help make a difference, whether together with us, or others, please do. Together we can. One community, one humanity.

If you are elsewhere, I’m sure you can find like minded people if you’d only ask. For me, it started right after I gave thanks for lunch on 30 Mar. It hit me then that while I had food on the table, many don’t. And while we don’t really have income, we still have savings and can share with those who are in need.
