Those who have been following my astrological posts and comments might’ve heard of me talking about the Big Bang of celestial events to end 2020 in December. Here’s what we are looking at:
1) Sun 13 Dec: Moon occults Venus when Jupiter-Saturn and Sun-Mercury are moving into conjunctions.
The series of Big Bang celestial events to end 2020 is going to begin when the Moon occults (passes in front of) Venus on Sunday 13 Dec. This is happening at the same time when Jupiter-Saturn and Sun-Mercury are moving into conjunctions. The combined effects is going to be very strong.
2) Mon 14 Dec: Total Solar Eclipse visible in Chile, Argentina together with Mercury in conjunction
Then the next day on 14 Dec, there will be a total Solar Eclipse happening which is visible in Chile and Argentina. Not only is the Moon going to block out the Sun but Mercury is nearby adding to the energies affecting everyone on Earth making this an exceptionally powerful total Solar Eclipse.
3) Mon 21 Dec: The closest Great Conjunction since 1623 together with Sun-Mercury conjunction on Winter Solstice
Come 21 Dec 2020, we are going to witness the Great Conjunction – which is when the planets Jupiter and Saturn seem to meet in the sky for earthlings. The name itself says a lot. Jupiter-Saturn conjunctions happen roughly once in every 19.6 years, or 20 years to keep it simple. It is said that it marks the beginning and ending of an era each time it happens. Sometimes, there are even triple Great Conjunctions happening within the same period such as during 1821, 1940-41 and 1981. More significance is given by astrologers to these triple Great Conjunctions which occur due to retrograde motion of 1 or both of the planets.
1821 marked the decline of the Spanish Empire and Ottoman Empire, while ushering in the ascent of USA, the 1st Industrial Revolution, the steam engine and the emergence of oil & gas industry.
1941 marks the time when the wars around the world merged to become World War II, when USA was drawn into WW2 and will ultimately emerge as the world #1 superpower. It also marks the beginning of the Atomic Age led by USA.
1981 marks the meteoric rise of personal computers and the rise of China, and also that of the AIDS epidemic.
Other non-triple Great Conjunctions mark notable eras too:
1961 marked the Space Age/Race era when USA started the Apollo Program and joined the Soviet Union in space.
2000 marks the Internet era and perhaps also that of global terrorism.
We can only wonder what the Great Conjunction in 2020 will mark. Already we have the Covid-19 pandemic. Perhaps the fact that the Great Conjunctions of 2020, 2040 and 2060 all happen in constellations/zodiac of Earth elements (Capricorn, Virgo, Taurus respectively) per astronomy, will shed some light as to the theme of the next 60 years. Earth element – perhaps climate change and how humanity respond to it will be the main theme.
In terms of celestial alignments, not only is Jupiter-Saturn in conjunction, but Sun-Mercury will also be in conjunction too. It is also the closest Great Conjunction to Earth since 1623. These means highly exceptional strong celestial energies will be exerted on Earth come 21 Dec.
To top it off, the Great Conjunction is happening on Winter Solstice. Winter Solstice marks the time of the year of least daylight in the northern hemisphere & most daylight in the southern hemisphere; whereupon going forward there will increasing daylight hours in the northern hemisphere and reducing daylight hours in the southern hemisphere. It’s a time when energies of Earth begins to shift and change. So not only is there a shift in celestial energies as marked by the Great Conjunction, but there will also be a shift of terrestrial energies on Earth due to Winter Solstice.
This makes 21 Dec 2020 a day of very strong energies in flux. It’s no wonder that this date has been mentioned in many circles as a special day.
4) Perihelion & Super New Moon
Due to the fact that the orbit of Earth around the Sun is elliptical, there are periods when Earth is closer to the Sun. Perihelion which marks the time when Earth is closest to the Sun is on 2 Jan 2021. This means that in Earth is more or less at its closest to the Sun come celestial events in Dec 2020. Thus any celestial events involving the Sun will be stronger than usual. And this applies to all 3 celestial events mentioned earlier.
Similarly, the orbit of the Moon around Earth is also elliptical. The times when the Moon is closest to Earth is called Supermoon. It was Supermoon in Oct and Nov, so it means that the Moon is still close to Earth in its orbit in December. This means that the Moon will be significantly stronger than usual when it occults Venus on 13 Dec and when it eclipses the Sun on 14 Dec.
5) All planets and celestial bodies in 1 half of the sky
Attached above is the (South Indian) Vedic Astrology chart for the Solar Eclipse 15 Dec. For the uninitiated, Earth is at the center of the boxes which represents 360 degrees of the ecliptic sky around us. Each celestial body is represented by its 1st two alphabets i.e. Su = Sun, Ju = Jupiter, Sa = Saturn, Me = Mercury, Mo = Moon, etc. “As” represents the Ascendant which is the eastern horizon. Ke and Ra marks the points where the orbit of the Moon intersects with the orbit of the Sun around the Earth; thus they are not celestial bodies in the physical sense.
During the period of all 3 celestial events mentioned earlier, all celestial bodies (planets, Moon and Sun) are in only 1 half of the sky. This means that as the Earth rotates throughout the day, we will only experience energies from the celestial bodies coming from 1 half of the sky. Without celestial bodies on the other half of the sky, the energies will create an imbalanced and destabilising effect on us.
6) Curse on US Presidents linked to Great Conjunction
As the results come in for the 2020 US Presidential elections, this will of a great interest to many.
Since 1840, US Presidents elected to office every 20 years has died in office or had assassination attempts that could’ve ended their lives. And this has coincided with the Great Conjunctions which happens roughly every 20 years.
Survivors are:
Given that recent US Presidents have all survived, this should augur well for whoever wins the 2020 US President elections.
To be fair, this unlucky string of events may not be entirely due to the Great Conjunction. It is said that Tecsumeh, the Shawnee native American chief cursed William Henry Harrison over dirty dealings in native land and the then president died. Somehow, US Presidents every 20 years after died in office or survived assassination attempts. Astrologers saw the link with Great Conjunctions that occur during the election years and thus it became known in astrology circles.
Dec 2020 is going to be challenging for many of us. Around the time of the 3 aforementioned celestial events and for days after, some people will be more emotional and temperamental than usual. Others might find their sleep patterns disrupted or even experience headaches. Such celestial events can even influence global events due to the effects on the masses.
How can we use this info?
Knowing the influence that all of us will be subject to, we can be mindful of ourselves so that we will not unleash negativity upon others; while at the same time we can be more understanding that people are emotional and temperamental due to planetary influences, so we can be cool even when others are not.
How can we minimise negative effects on ourselves?
We recommend that you do more:
We should also spend some time reflecting on the issues which cause us to be unhappy and try to make peace with them. Then we will truly be happier and less affected negatively by the planets; in fact, any event, or anybody.
CordyKet will be conducting more free (donation-basis) group meditations including Light on Earth meditations to help bring more Light and positive energies to Earth; and help everyone ride through these turbulent times. Stay tuned and look out for our posts and announcements.
Have a good day!
